Buying Paintball Guns

Guns are the most important equipment in a paintball game. Look around before you finally buy anything. And if you have a budget crunch and are thinking of a low-cost gun, there are certain things you must check before committing.

Cheap guns have easy to handle internal parts. So that shouldn’t be a problem. However, because they are low-cost, the spare parts might give away easily and even an Angel paintball might scratch in the blink of an eye. While buying, do focus on the guns which are sturdy as well as easy to maintain. You might need to do a bit of research for this one.

A gun which looks good, feels good as well. Especially if you are a rookie, a sleek gun gives you that extra amount of confidence. However, that shouldn’t be your only consideration while you are thinking of buying. Glaring colors might look great in a store, but once out in the field, they might make you easier to spot. If you want to play a good game, it is always advisable to go for the age-old black because that will make you less conspicuous.

Pistols might look tempting because of their size. However, you need to keep in mind their lesser degree of accuracy and range. The only good time to use a pistol is when your opponent is also using one. You might also consider getting a pistol as a backup to your gun. But most paintball veterans would warn you against getting a pistol as your primary gadget. Tippman or Angel makes good paintball pistols, but remember that all of them tend to hold a considerable less number of paintball than a gun.

For a starter, a kit is a great idea. A kit generally consists of a gun along with mask, squeegee, tank, hopper etc. it will also include a barrel plug. This is handy when you are relatively inexperienced. It takes you less time, less money and less energy to get all you need. The lone tank or the mask in the set might not be what you liked, but you have to adjust somewhat. However, if you desperately want that fancy spyder gun which doesn’t come in a set, do not worry. Usually the store lets you have the related items at a reduced cost.

Electronic hoppers are a great idea if you want more than 13 balls in your gun per second. Typically, a gun from angel or spyder might get fitted with an electronic hopper. A cheaper gun with a crooked range might seem good investment at first, but ultimately you will end up fishing out that extra $20 for an extra gun. It is also advisable to get a gun which can easily go for upgrades. A flashy gun might end up being just a flashy piece of junk as your level of expertise goes up.

Once you have made your choice, also consider the warranty period. One year is usually the typical time. An understandable manual is a must. As is a good and accessible customer service center. Remember, a reputed company is usually a safer choice.
