Keep your Paintball Equipment Clean
While probably one of the most basic and
simple things to know about Paintball but has to be talked
about things is, Keeping your paintball equipment clean at all
times.
Keeping your equipment clean is not rocket science, and if
it was I would be a rocket scientist. Keeping your marker
maintained should obviously be step one and making sure all
your o-rings are in good condition.
Make sure to add the proper lubrication to your marker and
remember that all low end Spyder type markers will use oil, and
usually you can find a bottle of it for just 5 bucks. On the
other hand, for your higher end markers, it's important to use
the proper grease and not to use bearing grease.
Proper lubrication will eliminate some problems that can be
caused by poor maintenence and will keep your marker running
smoothly and will prevent your o-rings from wearing and
tearing.
Remember not to force your marker if the threads don't fit
and if you destroy your threads you will surely destroy your
marker. Using lubrication on your threads will make things alot
smoother and easier and prevent you from destroying your
marker. Remember that some tank threads are in need of special
care. For example, dye tanks are known commonly for having
their threads stripped off.
After you've done this, you should attach your air system
and never take your tank off. Broken paint and water should be
cleaned off of your marker after every single time you are done
playing because your marker will not work if it's rusty. When
you're done at the end of the day, completely strip the marker
and clean everything.
You should always dry your marker before it goes back in the
bag because mud has water in it too. I don't quite know about
you but I am a clean freak when it comes to my gun and
equipment because I always want my gear to be in top notch
shape and because laziness is never a good thing on or off the
field.
Please always remember to shower after games and a long day
of paintballing because you probably will stink! No one likes
to be around someone who stinks and keep your clothes washed
and your shoes clean and remember that keeping your gear clean
is just one small step you can take to becoming a better
paintball player.
