Paintball Safety Tips

Paintball is a fun and fast paced sport and can be dangerous if you fail to follow some simple guidelines to playing the game safely. Safety might be a boring issue to talk about but it's definitely not something to be ignored and can result in harm to others if not followed properly.

It's important to remember that paintball guns are first and foremost, not toys! Although much less severe than a real fire arm, it should still be treated with the same care and respect as a real fire arm as any weapon should.

Remember to treat your gun as if it is always loaded because there have been so many accidents of people playing around because they "thought" the gun was empty.

Keeping a barrel plug on the end of your gun when it's not in use can also avoid some mishaps and should always be a safety pre-caution. Everyone knows how dangerous the air pressure from a gun can be, because just think about what makes those paintballs go far.

You should never try to fix your air system yourself, you should always have a local certified tech take a look at your gun if you think there is a problem with your air filter. You might even learn a few things and you can always ask your local store the best ways to clean your weapon and how to perform basic safety and maintenence inspections. Keeping a clean weapon and knowledge of how to keep a weapon clean safely can reduce a lot of health risks on and off the field.

Your goggles are there for a reason and with a loaded gun should never be off at any time. Without your eyes you are just about useless and something as foolish as forgetting to wear goggles could end your paintball playing days.

Make sure to keep your goggles nice and clean because as nice as it is having your eyes protected, you won't do much good if you can't see out of the goggles either, so occassionaly clean them and wipe them off of dirt and dust.

Your last and final tip for keeping it safe while you play paintball is not to eat paintballs unless you enjoy being sick and if you only knew the things that actually made up a paintball you wouldn't want to even think about eating one anyway. Keep it safe on and off the field and enjoy the game you play safely.
