Paintball Tactics
It's a good idea to scout the field
before the game and take a good look over the terrain. Examine
the land and the surroundings closely and pay attention to the
bunkers, because just a pile of sticks thrown on top of
eachother is not a very good bunker and you would be quite
surprised to find that paintballs can find their ways through
the smallest cracks and holes.
Think about your shots and your point of view from that
particular part of the terrain such as "can I get a clear shot
if my opponet moves this way or that way", because all of this
stuff will come into play once you are in the game. In some
cases or some games, you have about close to no time to scout
the field and you should quickly try to get a look around the
field before the horn blows.
A common mistake and most likely one of the most over looked
tactics is topping off the hopper and ball carriers. Imagine
you are on the field and you have just ran out of paint balls
because you didn't fill up to the max. You will be in a world
of hurt and so will your team with one man down.
Another missed common item that is forgotten is your air
supply. There will be a gauge on nitro tanks and it will
basically measure how much PSI is in the tanks and should be
filled if it's around 750 Psi.
When it's time to start the game and you're on the field and
the horn is about to blow what exactly do you do? The first
thing you should do is remove the barrel plug and then take the
safety off and communication is a must with your teammates. It
is very important to know exactly where everyone is going to go
and to watch each other's back everywhere they move.
verything should be figured out ahead of time such as who
will be guarding the flag and who will be protecting the rear
and etc. Remember not to bunch up, because it's easy to hit a
big blob of targets moving together and if you are traveling
together and let's assume a paintball misses you, it's most
likely going to hit the guy standing next to you.
Just remember when the horn blows first to get to the
furthest objective first because the teams that can furthest up
the field the fastest will have a huge advantage over the
slower teams.
